Our 18th Bowl for Kids’ Sake was a success this year with a record number of teams signed up to bowl. We had 71 teams representing schools, local businesses, and local civic clubs, and church groups. We had two corporate sponsors-Cargill and Amigos/United Supermarkets. We had 24 T-shirt sponsors and 9 Lane sponsors, and local businesses donated door prizes for our bowlers. The two day event was held on March 24th and 25th and Sugarland Mall Lanes.
Gordon and staff kept everything running smoothly. The theme this year was “Fiesta” and many of the teams dressed in fiesta-appropriate attire and the bowling alley was transformed into a fiesta atmosphere with full-size mariachis and cactus inflatables donated by Silver Screen. BBBS board members, agency staff, volunteers, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and their Littles were on hand both days to deliver a fun-filled, exciting activties for the registered bowlers. A YETI cooler was donated by Texas Threads and tickets were sold to generate more funds for the event. The YETI was won by Harold Barrett. A 32″ TV was donated by Raul Pesina and it was won by Mario DeLaCruz.
Thank you to all who helped make “Fiesta” Bowl for Kids’ Sake a success.
