Plans are underway for 15th Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake 2014. Bowl for Kids’ Sake, the annual fundraiser for Big Brothers Big sisters of Hereford is scheduled for March 28 -29 at Sugarland Mall Bowling Lanes in Hereford. Bowling Sessions will run Friday evening and Saturday morning/early afternoon to accommodate bowlers’s work schedules.
Sara Pesina, the agency’s new Executive Director stated, “Bowl for Kids’ Sake (BFKS) is an exciting time for our community to come together in support of our agency’s work. We are counting on a high grossing fundraiser this year to help offset cuts in grant funding. BFKS is a widely anticipated annual event because everyone has such a great time bowling with family, friends, and associates. We have set a goal of 65 teams, 20 T-shirt logo sponsors and 9 lane sponsors. We hope to to have 3 or 4 major sponsor whose contributions will boost BFKS revenue to the much needed level. The Bowl for Kids’s Sake theme this year is “Luau at he Lanes.” with coordinating T-shirts, decorations, and party favors. Our board members and staff work diligently to deliver a fun-filled experience for all of our teams.”
Each BFKS team is comprised of five bowlers for an entry fee of $250. For an additional $50.00 per person, teams can register up to two additional bowlers on their team. Registration fees include: Bowling, rental shoes, T-shirts, snacks, beverages, party favors, and a chance to win door prizes.
Area businesses can also contribute to our event with their logo placement on the backs of the T-shirts. This is a highly visible and reasonably priced promotional venue for companies, clubs, and organizations. Another type of sponsorship is our lane sponsorship in which a business or organization gets special signage on a lane for the entire event. These are perfect opportunities for entities that may not have enough people for a team but still want to contribute to BFKS.
Big Brothers Big Sisters has been a part of the community since 1973. The agency provides valuable, unduplicated service through quality positive youth development and one-to-one-mentoring programs. Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a worth while investment in our children who are the future of this community. Children enrolled in Big Brothers Big Sisters’ programs gain a wealth of benefits including higher grades and self-confidence, a better sense of the future , and stronger interpersonal relationships. One-hundred percent of the BFKS funds remain in our community to directly serve our kids.
